Product Description
John Van Hamersveld "The Next Wave" Poster created for the 2006 Benefit for the Scrips Institute of Oceanography, and dedicated to Surfer's Journal Patagonia
"The Next Wave" was created and published from an original drawing by John Van Hamersveld for Surf Art History, this is a lithograph, a signed edition of 3000 by John Van Hamersveld
Van Hamersveld, a hardcore surfer himself a few decades ago, riding the waves against those same beaches with his buddy rock art grandaddy Rick Griffin and other LA surf freaks. Some may remember the 1966 film ""Endless Summer."" John's classic poster of the movie's actual surfers -- bathed in red light and backed by a shimmering yellow sun -- is probably better known than the movie itself.
This is a great poster for any surfer, or simply fans and/or collectors of John's Van Hamersveld's work. Check our store for more John Van Hamersveld art, including Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane and even Mozart.
