Product Description
This original 1st printing poster was created to promote the fifth and largest, most outrageous of the annual "Hooker's Masquerade Balls" in San Francisco. Organized by Margot St. James as a fund raiser on behalf of the organization she created and led, C.O.Y.O.T.E. (Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics), which worked for the legalization of prostitution. This particular event was the high-water mark for the event and the organization, filling the Cow Palace.
Robert Gotsch created the poster in the style of French burlesque. It is a bona fide classic in pristine, mint condition. You won't find this truly unique bit of San Francisco history at this price for long.
