BG105-2 This is a vintage 2nd printing of Rick Griffin's legendary poster created for Jimi Hendrix's February, 1968 performance at Winterland and the Fillmore Auditorium. It was printed in December, 1968.
Aka "The Flying Eyeball," this is some of Griffin's best design and typography, a true classic. The use of metallic gold in the lettering gives this poster an unusual depth and presence for a Fillmore poster.
Although not as rare as the first printing, the second printing is highly sought after, commanding thousands for a mint copy.
Dimensions: 14" x 21 ½" Condition: This poster is in "Excellent condition" as follows: It has no holes or tears and has nice clean corners. It's defects are a bit of fading of the red (check corner closeups for detail), a small ½" bend lrc, two small scuffs ulc and two bits of adhesive tape on the back, on each of the top two corners. The tape looks to me like it might be easily removed by a pro.
